Andrey Krutskikh has been appointed Director of the Department of International Information Security by an order of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Born in 1951

1973: Graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Fluent in English and Spanish.

Has the rank of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation.

1973: joined the Foreign Ministry and held various positions in the central office of the Ministry (Department of North America, Department of Security and Disarmament, Department for New Challenges and Threats) and in foreign missions (Embassies of the Russian Federation in Washington and Ottawa, Consulate General in Montreal).

Doctor of History, Professor, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Director of the MGIMO Center for International Information Security, Science and Technology Policy.

Awarded the Order of Friendship, medals of the Order For Services to the Fatherland (1st and 2nd Class), and Letter of Gratitude from the President of the Russian Federation.

Author of numerous research and journalistic works on the history of international relations.

Since January 13, 2020: Director of the Department of International Information Security.

Married, with a son.
